11''x15''. Done in watercolor and marker. No good time estimate because half of the time I was watching Top Chef/downloading French music. >.<

The boy is supposed to be a young version of Sadi Carnot. *coughyesIhaveanewobsessioncough* That's why his outfit is kind of weird [/understatement]. It's modeled after the uniforms of the ecole polytechnique in France....but actually, their uniforms are more military-like... but I thought it'd be really weird to draw a full-blown military uniform on a little boy. Plus, that would associate him with Napoleon (Napoleon sponsored the school, though Carnot's father found it) and this is supposed to be a gift for someone who really really really really hates Napoleon.

I don't really like the background, but I'm pleased with the coloring on Carnot. This was the first time that I markered on watercolor paper and I like the effect. I also had a lot of freedom because the paper was big...marker paper is always so small!

I wish I wrote the quote bigger...D: I actually wanted to do times new roman font for the words, but that would mean 1)making a stencil or 2)finding a stencil of correct size or 3)cutting out letters of the right size and gluing them on.
